I have found that when I know I have a hike or long bike ride outside in the hot Arizona heat, I do much much much better once I drink lots of water (a half a gallon) the night before and another half a gallon a few hours before my hike. I am not saying you need to drink this much, but please try and drink more water then you want hours before you head outside, no matter where in the country or world you live.
