Success story for a Teen age High School Cross- Country team and for Sunrider!!!!

Here is a AWESOME MOVIE for the whole family to enjoy, while you are home 🙂

If you haven’t already heard of the new movie, McFarland USA, you will!  It is destined to be one of the best sports dramas!   The Disney film is based on the true story of a group of determined  youth in 1987 who give their all to build a cross-country team under the direction of Coach Jim White (Kevin Costner).

With grit and determination, the unlikely band of runners eventually overcame the odds to forge a championship team and an enduring legacy. The McFarland cross-country team, under White’s leadership won:

·        9 of 15 California State Championships

·        22 of 24 League Titles

·        15 Sectional Championships

But here’s the fun part. Not only was Jim an award-winning coach, he was also a Sunrider distributor who used the Sunrider products to give his runners every edge!  I first met Jim at a Sunrider International Grand Convention back in 2005.  We were sitting at one of the amazing delicious healthy meals at the convention and someone introduced us. I was so excited to hear his amazing story.  His family are truly too wonderful.  After hearing the success of the team and the love and affection his family had with the boys, I said to him : you should make a movie out of this.  He said that they were already working on it!!!!!

 To wonderful when great inspiring stories get told like this!  I just love it!  

In a Los Angeles Times newspaper article in 1997, the writer hints at the use of

Besides Sunrider, the other large factor that played a key role in the athlete’s performance was the time and love that Jim and his wife Cheryl invested in the youth. They did much more than was required of them so the boys could receive what they otherwise would not. They were always there for them, pushing them on and always taking them on trips, to movies in a town with a theater, and on fishing trips.
McFarland USA opened in theaters on Feb 20^th 2015. I highly recommend it.
